Birthday & holiday month (Part 1) is sadly over, however it was everything I could have wished for and more so I’m not feeling too sorry for myself, with only smiles and happy memories to show for it.
SO, the moment you’ve all been waiting for has arrived. Time to unveil the most amazing, authentic Portuguese tapas restaurant in all of Lisbon! Taberna da Rua das Flores.
Despite the sad weather forecast Abi & I awoke to the most GLORIOUS sunshine and obviously headed straight to our hotel pool to catch some rays whilst our good fortune lasted.
Abi & I took advantage of the late May bank holiday weekend and squeezed in a fly-by trip to Lisbon to drink, eat and sight-see ourselves silly. Sunning ourselves brown had been high on the agenda too, but unfortunately the weather man had different ideas in mind and so a light ‘blush’ is all we had to show for our time in the southern European city.
It was a rather beautiful day in early May when a group of us visited Paradise Garage to celebrate William’s birthday.
It’s become a bit of a family tradition to celebrate my birthday at Roka, Charlotte Street, having done so for the past 3 years and doing so again in just over a week (don’t worry, I am going to spare you from another review!). Seeing how fond I am of this tradition and my favourite London restaurant, it felt only natural to treat some of my closest friends to the same experience for their birthdays.
Chotto Matte has been right at the top of my list for a long while now, but when your favourite restaurant serves similar food at the same price just a few streets over, it’s easy for it to just stay at the top of that list.
May turned out to be a wonderful month full of fun, friends, family and (a little) sunshine. Although I honestly cannot believe it’s now June, aka we are HALFYWAY TO CHRISTMAS, and it’s my birthday month; both of which I’m overly excited about, albeit very scared that my life is disappearing before my eyes!
